Managed by Martha Sanchez of Idyllwild Vacation Cabins. Right off Highway 243, Hikers Paradise offers two decks with spectacular views of the forest by day and the stars by night. It is right next door to the gentle trails of the Nature Center, and adjacent to Idyllwild County Park, which offers even more trails and views of beautiful Idyllwild and the San Jacinto mountains. The house is also conveniently located near Deer Springs Trail, your gateway to Mt. San Jacinto Peak, and an amazing hike to/from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, not to mention many others. Don’t feel like hiking? Cozy up with a good book or movie, simply walk the quiet Cedar Glen neighborhood streets, or relax on the deck to catch the sunset over the forest. Although there is no fenced-in yard, the large lower balcony includes a gate for a pet to lounge about. Two yoga mats are available for a good stretch or meditation.

The lake is open year round. There is an entrance fee per person for the private section, and free on the public portion (with a valid California fishing permit). There is a launch ramp fee. Rental boats are available, check for current prices. Camping is available for the night. Lake Hemet store carries all necessary tackle and supplies. You can reach them at (951) 659-2680. Trout is the main action here, although there are some largemouth bass and catfish. A boat is recommended since limited areas are accessible from the shore. Lake Fulmor About the same distance from downtown Idyllwild (9.5 miles northwest), Lake Fulmor offers an excellent wooden fishing pier (wheelchair accessible), free parking (with a Wilderness Pass), picnic tables (watch out for the chipmunks) BBQ's, and toilets. Swimming is not recommended. Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Like Lake Hemet is stocked with trout and the primary fish caught here. Additional types of fish include largemouth bass and catfish.
